Some of the best ski resorts in America are Vermont ski resorts
Whether you are planning on visiting one of the Northern Vermont ski resorts for the first time or live near one of the mountains, you have plenty of options for skiing or riding. I try to go to at least 2 or 3 different ski mountains every year. Sometimes I make it, sometimes I don't. I have a few of my regulars, Jay Peak and Sugarbush that I try to make annual destinations. Having skied out at the "bigger Western areas" consistently ranked with the best ski resorts, I am happy to report that you can have an experience equivalent to the Western resorts right here in New England. It is all about timing. If you live in the Northeast why bother with airports and flights out West (especially now that most airlines "Whack" you for your bags) or to Europe when you can spend more time on the slopes here. If you live outside this region you can fly into a number of airports and be tearing up the slopes in no time. Many of the ski resorts are not far from others so you could ski or ride more that one place while you are here. Many of the resorts are much more accessable than a lot of people think. Burke Mountain is one that when I talk to some people about skiing they have never heard of. It is minutes off of I91 in the Northeast Kingdom, really easy to get to. No matter what kind of skier or rider you are, you will find a number of Vermont ski areas that suit you for your New England ski vacation. In my opinon some of these areas are among the best ski resorts in America and you will probably agree. |
