Next time don't drive by Tenney Mountain. Stop and check out the ski resort.Launching at Tenney 1988. Lange Pink Panthers, Dayglo Fischer skis and the spring jacket to boot.
That's right. You have to go right by Tenney Mountain ski resort to get to the better known New Hampshire ski resorts, Cannon, Loon and Waterville. Its been quite a while since I have stopped here but the mountain is more than adequate. It is real easy to get to, minutes off of 93 in Plymouth, NH. Check out the directions to Tenney Mountain. I used to ski here a lot back in college because it was an easy day trip from Northern Mass and the discounted lift tickets with a student ID were ridiculously low priced. The lift ticket prices are still way less than what a lot of the other ski areas charge. Low ticket prices are the base of cheap ski vacations. There are also some places to stay in Plymouth that will nowhere near break your wallet. Area lodging availability and online booking! The Plymouth area makes a great place for a weekend skiing break with friends because of the easy ride and there are a few decent drinking establishments nearby. As with some of the other places to ski in New Hampshire, Tenney Mountain doesn't have a ton of trails that will have you shaking in your boots. The strength of the mountain is the single base area and lots of cruising blues. 1400 vertical is not too bad nor are the rest of these mountain stats. One thing they could try to improve is getting beginners higher up the mountain. Give this destination a shot next time you want to get in some turns without the longer ride.
