Mt Sunapee ski resort. Day trippers paradise

Don't fall kid!

Mt Sunapee is an excellent choice for day-trippers and those looking for ski vacation packages. The mountain is one of the New Hampshire Ski resorts that keeps climbing in the rankings of ski resort reviews.

It is easy to get to from any direction with a nice location between I91 and I89. Directions to Mt Sunapee. This area can compete with any of the other New Hampshire resorts for quality of skiing. The ease of getting here makes it a top choice if someone in your crew needs to learn to ski as there is a well separated learning area. It would be nice however if beginning skiers and riders had access to summit to base runs.

Unlike some other ski resorts around new England, the folks here have kept lift tickets under $70 on weekends and holidays.

The mountain will definitely not scare too many people so don't expect a lot of really hairy terrain if you decide to ski Sunapee. There are a few really nice blacks but the strength of this ski resort is blue cruising. See the trail map here and decide for yourself.

The weather conditions tend to be much friendlier than those areas further North especially early and late in the season, however often times a southern storm track will blast this area with more snow.

Last time I was there was a few years back for "Jeep Owner Appreciation Day". Unfortunately I think every Jeep owner in New England decided to show up. Lucky for me I was alone and got to move through singles lines quickly.

We have a friend with a house on the lake right down the street which we should take advantage of more often than we do.

If you don't know anyone with a place nearby, don't worry, there are plenty of options for lodging as well as dining and off mountain activities in the Mt Sunapee region.
