Shawnee Peak ski resort is one of the easiest Maine ski areas to access

I have been to Shawnee Peak Maine a handful of times. My brother-in-law has a house down the road on one of the lakes so we have a nearby place to stay.
This is one of those mid-sized Maine ski areas. Not quite up there with the handful of big boys in Maine but also much bigger than some of the backyard ski areas.
The mountain itself is not very intimidating as you can probably tell by this trail map. My opinion of the resort is that it is very family and intermediate friendly.
Lift ticket prices are excellent. If you go to this Bridgton Mountain, you may actually still go home with some money left in your pocket. I especially like the "Satuday Night Special" deal.
As I mention in the headline, this is one of the most accessable ski resorts in Maine especially from Portland and Boston. How about this bonus. It is small enough and far enough to keep the New York and New Jersey crowds away.

There are a few on mountain places to stay but not enough to make the trails like a crowded highway. Also check around Bridgeton, Fryburg, and Naples for more lodging opportunities.
