Ski Okemo. Vacations geared toward the family ski trip

"Seriously Dad. How much longer are you going to make me wait?"

O.K. I have to admit that it has been quite a few years since I have been to Okemo Mountain Ski resort. 10 years as of writing this to be exact. They have done many new things at this Vermont ski area since my last visit including the opening of the Jackson Gore Area.

From my experience at this Central Vermont area I would give it high grades as as a family ski resort or a good place to learn to ski. The trails are well groomed and there are a lot of long cruisers. I would ski here more often but the resort does lack what I like to call "hairy trails", more prevailent at the Northern Vermont ski areas. The ones that scare the you know what out of you. See the trail map and decide for yourself.

Okemo is definitely one of the best Vermont ski resorts for lodging, service and intermediate terrain. Long cruisers can make a really fun day especially for larger groups that have people with different abilities.

09/10 lift ticket prices. They kept the midweek prices the same as last year and added an after 2:00 PM ticket for this year. Good for those who arrive during the day and might not be able to check in yet.

Getting to your ski Okemo Vacation is not too difficult from any of the major metro areas to the south.
