Massachusetts skiing, not just backyard ski areas

Start date?
How many days?
There are a lot more places for Massachusetts skiing or riding than most people know. With all the mega-resorts in the northern states, the Massachusetts Ski Areas often get overlooked. The smaller size of some of these areas can be beneficial especially if your goal is to learn to ski.

Other benefits of Skiing Massachusetts versus heading north are money. Most Mass ski areas have lift tickets at about half the price of the northern resorts. Other important factors are time, or lack of it, and weather.

Once in a while the skiing conditions can actually be better in Mass than further north due to a southern storm track.

I admit that I am guilty of bypassing many of the Bay State resorts and heading north. My kids get more days at some of these areas because they don't have to work and get snow days from school so my wife will take them for a day trip.

Check out these Massachusetts areas, some of which are much closer than you think.
