Mad River Glen Stats

From first glance at the Mad River Glen Stats an unseasoned skier may write off the area as somewhere to not go. Big mistake. I actually think of MRG as one of the best family and learn to ski resorts there is. I personally go there for the expert terrain but my observation of the area as a whole show that it has hidden strengths.

First off it is uncrowded. Nothing like not dealing with hundreds of people flying by you when your are still developing your skills. Ask yourself this question if you have young kids new to skiing. How quickly do you want them to be able to ski with you all day without you having to ski greens and blues all day. Exactly. As soon as possible. Okay I'm geting sidetracked. Here are the mountain stats.

2037 foot vertical with a Peak elevation of 3637. This allows for plenty of natural snow. 250 inches a year. MRG relies on Mother Nature as snowmaking is limited to 15% of the mountain.

Total Trails 45

30 30 40

Lifts 1 single

3 doubles

Here is why the trails are uncrowded. 3574 skiers per hour

115 acres of trails and 800 acres of wherever you can fit through the trees skiing.
