Okay if I am at Catamount Ski Resort am I skiing massachusetts or am I skiing New York?
That is the question about Catamount Ski Area. This mountain is on the Massachusetts-New York border. It sort of reminds me of the signs at Heavenly that point one way to California and the other to Nevada.
This is one of the larger ski mountains in the Berkshires. There is some decent terrain as you can see by this trail map.
I love ski resorts that separate skiers by ability and that lead to a single base area. These type of mountains are great for families and groups.
Alright I have already mentioned the location so here are the directions to Catamount Ski Resort.
The resort does lack on mountain accomodations but there are plenty of places for lodging in the general area, many of which offer ski and stay packages.
Check local lodging prices and availability and book a trip to Catamount
And my favorite subject. What is it going to cost me for me and my family to ski a day here? Weekday lift ticket prices are excellent
and they have kept the weekend and holiday prices under $60. I can live with that.
One thing I would like to see the folks at this split-state ski area do is have an open to close pass. As I have been building this site and doing research I am finding some of the resorts that offer night skiing starting to have this option.
I'd love being able to leave the kids on the mountain with one pass and kick back for some food and a few adult beverages. Besides they are real easy to get to sleep after an extended day and it keeps them away from video games.
Think about the benefits!
