Bolton Valley ski resort is one of the few Vermont ski resorts that I plan on going in the 09/10 season so I will update this page at that time.

The mountain gets over 300 inches a snow a year because of it's high altitude and proximity to Lake Champlain. It has a higher base elevation than most of the other ski areas in New england and more vertical than a good portion of other resorts also. From looking at the trail map you will clearly see that the mountain has a great layout separating the more experienced from the less seasoned skiers and riders. This can sometimes make it more difficult for a large group to stay together but makes for much better traffic conditions on the trails.

Even though the layout can break up the group everybody can funnel back into the same general area at the base of the ski resort as the three peaks are well connected by the trail system.

If your like me, Stowe can be a little out of your price range and I personally like to get more ski days for my dollar, so Bolton Valley ski resort makes a great nearby alternative. If you are ever leaving Stowe on a day when some nice freshy just fell, stop at this ski area and get some more runs in.

Most of the accommodations are right at the mountain and the prices are right if cheap ski vacations are what you seek. Bolton Valley lift tickets are priced are great in comparison to other Vermont ski areas. Check out the midweek pricing and the option for the 12:00PM to 8:00PM. Show up late and ski until close on Wednesday through Saturday.

Located in Northwestern Vermont Bolton valley ski area tends to be overlooked in the best ski resort reviews that like to focus on the Larger Vermont ski areas with the huge crowds. I think a lot of the people that respond to those polls also have a "home mountain" and give their respective resort high rankings. Similar to ballot stuffing for sports all star teams.

This Vermont ski mountain is not too far off of I89 which makes it more accessable than some of the other areas throughout The Green Mountain State. Directions to the ski resort.
