Black Mountain Maine is a great alternative to the expensive ski resorts in MaineBlack Mountain Maine is a ski area that tends to fall off the radar when people plan their ski vacations. Probably because it is not as big and does not have the marketing budget of its bigger brothers and sisters. I do not get to a lot of these smaller ski mountains myself however there are many benefits to riding or skiing mountains of less popularity. The first and most important reason is price. Check out the prices of these lift tickets. I don't know about you but I will take 1150 vertical feet for under $30 anytime. If I lived within an hour of this ski area I would be there every weekend. Now one reason many people don't go to the smaller, UNCROWDED mountains is lack of terrain variety. There may not be a ton of trails, but if you are with kids half the time they find a trail they like and hit it over and over again. Like most of the other Maine ski areas this mountain is not really a short ride from most major metros. Directions to Black Mountain Maine Ski Resort.
