Haven't been to Berkshire East ski area. Not for long!
As with most of the western Massachusetts ski areas, Berkshire East ski area has more to offer than many people think. In full disclosure, I have not been here.
I tend to head North for my ski trips but I do plan on skiing Massachusetts many areas in the winter of 10/11.
I have concluded the following from studying the mountain.
Lift ticket prices are decent. An adult can ski for just over $50 on a weekend
The midweek prices are excellent. Cost may be the best reason for skiing Massachusetts instead of some of the larger and more crowded resorts to the north.
The mountian looks like it has good mix of trails
I like how skiers will be separated by ability and then funnel back to the same base area. Ski mountains set up like this are excellent for larger groups.
The slopes are not covered with condos but there are plenty of nearby places to stay from Motels to Bed and Breakfasts. Located right off of route 2 in Charlemont makes the area pretty easy to get to for most people
in Western Mass, Southern Vermont and Connecticut. ,Get directions to Berkshire East
If you plan on staying in or going to Massachusetts skiing or riding, this is one area that must be considered.
