Ascutney Mountain ski resort is one of the most easily accessed Vermont ski resorts. Mt Ascutney is very easy to get to right off of I91.

The central Vermont location allows for decent snowfall year in year out unless it is a bad season for the natural stuff for everybody.

Last time I skied here was not the best of days weatherwise. It was one of those mixed precipitation days that create goggle problems and low visibility. The crappy weather did however keep the crowds away so we handled it without complaining.

I was not with my family but the layout of this mountain seems really friendly for a family ski vacation. The mountain is one of the vermont ski areas with a central base area. Lift tickets are much lower priced in comparison to some other Vermont resorts as well as several of the ski areas in New Hampshire. They have managed to keep the price for a weekend just over $60 a day for this winter. Just think you can get 4 days here for the cost of 3 days at some of the "more popular" ski areas in Vermont.
