Ascutney Mountain Trail MapUnfortunately the lasting effects of the recession have taken their toll on Ascutney and with regret I inform you that the area will not be open for the 10-11 ski season The Ascutney mountain trail map has a lot of my favorite color on it. Black. There are some good rugged runs on both sides of the upper mountain with some nice gladed trails mixed in. Beginners can quickly move from the extreme lower mountain to the Sunrsie chair and there is even an easy way down from the top of the Snowdance triple. Not quite the top but pretty high up. Some of the blacks here may be considered blues at other resorts so don't be intimidated if you are not an expert skier or rider yet. I am not quite sure where these percentages come from because my count is a little different than what the resort claims unless they are counting the single blacks as blue.
