Me and My New England Ski Areas WebsiteWho I amMy name is Kevin Connolly and I have lived in, traveled throughout and most importantly been skiing at many of the ski resorts in New England, pretty much almost all of the larger ones. I am a middle aged Massachusetts native. I have 2 sons who are 15 and 11 at the time of writing this. The older one switched to boarding when he was 8 and my younger boy still skis. He thought about making the switch but I unintentionally discouraged the decision by letting him know that he would be back in lessons and on greens again for at least a couple trips. Of course he decided to stick with four edges when he heard this.

We do go outside New England occasionally for our ski vacations. I actually skied out west quite a bit when I was living in Phoenix
in the 90's. Here is a picture of my family when we went to Tahoe in 2005.
I can't convince my wife to ski. She has tried a few times but every time we almost get divorced on the slopes. Even though she is not on the mountain
she has a blast. I think her 2 favorite places to hang out are tiki bars in tropical climates and ski lodges. Many times when I come in
to meet her for a beer, the bartender at the lodge will already know my name, what I am having, my social security number, mothers maiden name.. Just kidding but you know what I mean.The last couple years have been tough to get in a lot of skiing due to getting hit by the recession and both of my boys play hockey which pretty much takes up every winter weekend. Once I came to the realization that the housing and financial markets are in a longterm mess I decided to look for other things to do. You know things I like to do, like skiing. So I start thinking. I love to ski but can't afford to go much as I like and I need a career change. I don't want to move. Yet! Why don't I write and share about something that I know about and actually enjoy doing? My intention going to forward is to ski more often at more different New England ski areas each year.(Even the small ones) Come back and visit my site often to see what is new. Oh I almost forgot. More about me and what I am doing to ski more and ski better!I have come to a point in my life where the recovery time after a lot of physical activity is longer and more painful than it used to be by a longshot. Well you know what! I am not going to just sit here and take it. Now I know alot of what I have done to slow down is directly my fault. Eating too much, drinking too much and I actually used to smoke. (Thank God I broke that nasty habit) I have decided that I no longer want to be overweight and sore everytime I ski or play hockey or even work in my yard on a Saturday so I have embarked on a new journey. I want to ski better, better than I could when I was in my twenties! See how I am getting into the best shape of my life and making some money doing it! Imagine that!
